ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan once again expresses its deep regret over the sinking of the Cheonan naval ship of the Republic of Korea off the shores of the Korean peninsula, which resulted in the loss of life of 46 sailors and crewmembers.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan condemns any act which is in contradiction to accepted international norms, and aimed at destabilization of the region and beyond.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan strongly supports all initiatives intended towards ensuring lasting peace and security in the region.
