Japanese Ambassador in Kabul called on IEA Foreign Minister.

Welcoming the delegation, FM Muttaqi thanked Japan for $106 million in aid and its positive diplomatic interaction, calling such interaction a roadmap for the international community.
The Japanese Ambassador said that Japan was discussing with the international community how to lay the foundations for economic recovery in Afghanistan. Also, Japan intends to increase assistance for alternative livelihoods for poppy cultivation, rehab centers & other sectors.Mr. Okada said that Japan will likely commence its duty as a member of the UN Security Council next year and will try to play a good role in the Security Council regarding Afghanistan.To end, FM Muttaqi appreciated Japan’s efforts and called for the delivery of a constructive message about IEA’s achievement in preventing poppy cultivation, reducing administrative corruption, providing security, and other issues.
