Ambassador Designate Pays Courtesy Call On Foreign Minister Rabbani
KABUL – The newly appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan Ovezov Hoja Sapargeldiyewich called upon H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani Minister of Foreign Affairs today afternoon.
Ambassador Designate Sapargeldiyewich paid this courtesy call a day before presenting his credentials to the country’s President H.E. Ashraf Ghani. He Presented a copy of the document to H.E. Foreign Minister Rabbani at the outset of the meeting.
Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Designate conveying his Foreign Minister’s regards and wishes to Foreign Minister Rabbani reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthened relations and cooperation with Afghanistan, the country, which he said, Turkmenistan’s President calls ‘brotherly’.
H.E. Foreign Minister Rabbani welcoming the Ambassador praised the friendly and increasingly strengthened cooperation between the two countries and underscored the importance of areas of cooperation; recalling with appreciation the recent electricity supply project in Badghis Province.
The two sides discussed and exchanged views on the upcoming bilateral visits.
Foreign Minister Rabbani wished the Ambassador best of success in his new tenure.
Mr. Ovezov Hoja Sapargeldiyewich has previously served several years as his country’s diplomat in Herat.
