Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Newly-appointed US Ambassador to Kabul
Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai met with the newly-appointed US Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. John Bass this morning.
The two sides discussed and exchanged views on the second “Kabul Process” meeting due to be held in Kabul and bring together participants from more than 25 countries next month, which will focus on peace and combating terrorism.
Deputy Foreign Minister shed light on the detailed peace program of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with armed groups and expressed gratitude for Washington’s continued support and cooperation with Kabul. The two sides also talked about the new US strategy on South Asia and its effectiveness in fighting terrorism.
Ambassador Bass, assuring the Deputy Foreign Minister of the US full support to all Afghan-led and Afghan-owned processes, underscored the importance of the strategic relations between the two countries.
