Foreign Minister Meets his Uzbek Counterpart
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani met with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov this afternoon in Kabul.
Recalling the latest trip made by H.E. President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Tashkent and its achievements with respect to the expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two friendly neighboring countries, the two sides put emphasis on taking practical steps towards the implementation of more than twenty agreements and memorandum of understanding signed during the above-mentioned trip of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to Uzbekistan.
It’s been said that the main purpose of the visit of the Uzbek Foreign Minister to Kabul and his meetings with high ranking Afghan officials was to discuss ways of putting into effect the aforesaid agreements and MoUs, specially the implementation of Mazar-e-Sharif-Herat railway line which is going to be built with cooperation of Uzbekistan.
