The Second Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan was held in New Delhi on 18-19th November 2006.
The conference reviewed the implementation of the December 2005 Kabul Declaration on Regional Economic Cooperation. Participants explored ways to strengthen cooperation in the areas of electricity, transport, trade, investment and agriculture, while promoting capacity building and focusing on regional projects.

Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan Establish Joint Investment Fund
11 July 2007: Bishkek
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have signed an intergovernmental agreement on establishment of the joint investment fund with estimated capital making USD 120 million, Kazinform reports.
“Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will place USD 100 and 20 million into the fund correspondingly”, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov told press conference in Bishkek after the bilateral negotiations.
“This money will help develop the Kyrgyz economy and deepen cooperation between our countries”, Mr. Massimov added.
Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund JSC is expected to control the activity of the new fund on the part of Kazakhstan.
