Foreign Minister Meets Tajik Foreign Minister
DUSHANBE – Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani met with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
Having appreciated the participation of Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, Mr. Muhriddin expressed his expectation for Afghanistan’s participation in the SIKA summit to be held in Dushanbe in June.
Foreign Minister of Tajikistan said, “We want prosperity in Afghanistan and understand the situation there. As our president said, there is no good and bad terrorism, and it should be fought based on a planned program.”
Mr. Sirojiddin also mentioned the seventh intergovernmental commission on economic, commercial, social, and technical cooperation between Afghanistan and Tajikistan that is to be held in Dushanbe and said that mutual issues would be discussed there. Moreover, he informed the Afghan Foreign Minister about 50 more scholarships in the coming year.
Mr. Rabbani his appreciation for the invitation and congratulated his counterpart for successfully holding such an important conference. He also called the presence of Afghanistan in such meetings very important.
Foreign Minister Salahuddin said that a high level delegation would participate in SIKA Summit. He also welcomed the speech delivered by the Tajik President that the problem of terrorism does not belong to one country, there is no good and bad terrorism, and the problem of terrorism is not only Afghanistan’s problem.
Mr. Rabbani mentioned his meeting with the Tajik President and called it positive and expressed his appreciation for Tajikistan’s 50 scholarships.
Both sides talked on CASA 1000, second phase of Raghoon Dam, and security and border cooperation between the two countries, transfer of 80 Afghan prisoners, peace, and Afghan Presidential Elections.
