Japan’s Ambassador Calls on Deputy Foreign Minister


KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Idrees Zaman met with the Ambassador of Japan to Kabul Mr. Mitsuji Suzuka.

The meeting focused on a wide range of issues of mutual interest

The two sides discussed latest developments in political sphere; including the peace efforts, the regional dynamics, as well as the upcoming presidential elections.

Ambassador Suzuka expressed heartfelt condolences for the loss of lives in the recent terrorist attacks, terming them as ‘heinous acts’.

The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the Afghan government’s commitment to peace and sustainable solution to the burning issues.

Deputy Minister Zaman and Ambassador Suzuk also discussed the upcoming UNGA and its side events as well as some bilateral arrangements.

Concluding the meeting, the two sides reiterated commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.

Ambassador Suzuka reiterated his government’s support of the Afghan people and a democratically elected government.

The Deputy Foreign Minister recalled with appreciation Japan’s contribution to Afghanistan’s reconstruction.
