British Embassy Charge d’Affairs Calls on Deputy Foreign Minister
KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman met in his office with the Charge d’Affairs of the British Embassy in Kabul, Mr. Giles Lever.
The meeting focused on bilateral ties and arrangements, recent developments in the peace process, as well as the upcoming events.
Among the bilateral issues, the two sides discussed the state of progress in the legal procedures of the new British Embassy site.
Deputy Minister Zaman and Mr. Lever also talked about the upcoming presidential elections and related preparations; and running almost parallel with it, the UN General Assembly due later this month, as well as the ongoing peace effort.
Mr. Giles Lever informed Deputy Minister Zaman of London hosting some of Afghanistan’s donors to discuss assistance plans for the post peace period; tomorrow September 19th.
