Acting Foreign Minister Telephone Call with United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Commonwealth, UN and South Asia
KABUL – Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Idrees Zaman had a telephonic conversation with Mr. Lord Ahmad UK Minister of State for Commonwealth, UN and South Asia, yesterday evening.
Both sides raised their concerns over the recent escalations of tensions in the region. They further emphasized that since the situation in the region is in a critical verge, all efforts should be made not only to deescalate the situation, but also avoid its probable negative impact on Afghanistan.
At the end, Minister Zaman thanked Mr. Ahmad for the continuous support of UK government for Afghanistan and hoped that the bilateral relation between the two countries further strengthen in 2020.
