Indonesian Foreign Minister Visits Kabul
KABUL – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia Ms. Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, heading a high-ranking government delegation, landed in Kabul today and was received by Deputy and Acting Foreign Minister Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri.
The Indonesian Foreign Minister and the accompanying delegation along with the Acting Minister Chakhansuri then headed to the Presidential Palace. The two sides exchanged opinions on various issues including Peace Process; the significance of OIC’s contribution and formation of a regional consensus regarding Peace in Afghanistan, women’s contribution in the process, establishment of the Islamic University in Afghanistan as well as political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Minster Chakhansuri, thanking Indonesia for its efforts and effective contribution towards Peace in Afghanistan, especially the convention of The Ulima Conference on Peace, expressed appreciation for cooperation of Indonesia in various areas including empowering women.
Following the visit of the Indonesian delegation, the second political consultation meeting at the MFA-Directorate level of the two countries is due to be held tomorrow in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where the two sides will discuss further expansion of political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
