Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar Meets with Norwegian Special Representative for Afghanistan and Norway Ambassador to Kabul
KABUL – Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar met with the Kingdom of Norway's Special Representative for Afghanistan Mr. Pierre Albert Ilsas as well as that country's Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Kiel Tormot Petersen, in his office today afternoon.
During the first meeting, the Special Representative and Ambassador of Norway to Kabul congratulated Mr. Atmar on his new post at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expressed hope that human community would be safe from COVID-19.
They also briefed the Foreign Minister on the Norway's readiness to support the peace process and economic development in Afghanistan.
Mr. Atmar then talked about his priorities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including efforts on the peace process, preservation of the Islamic Republican and the reform process in Afghanistan's diplomatic and foreign policy appartus. He further appreciated Norway's comprehensive and continued support to Afghanistan in political and economic fields.
