In a Phone Call, Acting Foreign Minister Bid Farewell to the Outgoing Australian Ambassador to Kabul
KABUL – Mohammad Haneef Atmar, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, had a video call with the outgoing Australian Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Geoff Tooth, earlier today.
At the outset, the Acting Foreign Minister while appreciating Amb. Tooth's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Australia during his tenure in Afghanistan, wished him success in his future missions.
The two sides discussed the challenges facing the peace talks. They talked about the need for all sides to to substantially reduce violence and establish a comprehensive ceasefire, strengthening regional and international consensus on the success of peace talks, preservation and expanding the achievements of the past 19 years.
In closing, Amb. Tooth appreciated Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ cooperation with his office during his mission in Kabul and assured Mr. Atmar of his country's continued commitment and cooperation with Afghanistan.
