Foreign Minister Meets Newly-appointed Ambassador of South Korea to Kabul

KABUL – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Haneef Atmar met this morning with the newly-appointed Ambassador of South Korea to Afghanistan, Mr. Choi Tae-ho, at the Ministry's Storai Palace.

At the outset, the Afghan Foreign Minister praised South Korea's constructive cooperation and assistance to Afghanistan in the last two decades, in various fields. Mr. Atmar also thanked Seoul for its declaration of support and commitment to long-term assistance to Afghanistan at the Geneva Conference. Minister Atamar wished the newly-appointed South Korean Ambassador to Afghanistan good luck and success in expanding relations between Kabul and Seoul during his tenure.

Referring to the friendly relations between Afghanistan and Korea, the newly-appointed Ambassador of South Korea presented a copy of his credentials to Mr. Atmar and pledged to make every effort to deepen and strengthen relations between Afghanistan and Korea in different arenas, including cooperation on issues related to trade, education, and ensuring a lasting peace in Afghanistan.
