Kabul - Foreign Minister H.E Salahuddin Rabbani met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E Abdulaziz Kamilov.
Welcoming the Uzbek Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation, Foreign Minister Rabbani called Uzbekistan a good and reliable friend of Afghanistan. The Foreign Minister also appreciated Uzbekistan for hosting the first Ministerial Dialogue of Afghanistan-Central Asia-India and called for the implementation of Surkhan – Pulikhumri Electricity Transmission Line and Mazar – Herat Railway Projects.
Uzbekistani Foreign Minister also emphasized his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan in all areas, particularly in the fields of development, education, railway, and electricity.
Mr. Kamilov announced his country’s readiness for hosting the Peace Talks and explained his country’s approach in helping bring peace and paving the way for direct talks between the Government of Afghanistan and Taliban representatives .
Moreover, Foreign Minister Rabbani asked for Uzbekistan’s full cooperation in providing medical treatment for the wounded soldiers of Afghanistan.
Both sides discussed bilateral and regional cooperation, the Peace Process, and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
