Afghan Foreign Minister Meets Finnish Counterpart Preceding RSM Meeting
BRUSSELS – Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani met his Finnish counterpart H.E. Timo Soini at the NATO headquarter preceding the Resolute Support Mission meeting, this morning.
The two Foreign Ministers discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest and common concern.
The meeting took place just before Foreign Ministers of 41 countries and representatives of international organizations met at the NATO headquarter to discuss Afghanistan’s peace efforts.
The Afghan Foreign Minister briefed his Finnish counterpart on the latest developments in Afghanistan’s efforts for peace as well as the parliamentary and the upcoming Presidential elections.
The two sides also exchanged discussed and exchanged views on issues of regional nature, including the security concerns.
The Finnish Foreign Minister reiterated his country’s support of an Afghan-led peace process.
