Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office
NEW YORK – Deputy Foreign Minister Ms. Adela Raz met with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office Mr. Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov.
Pointing at Afghanistan’s role as a victim of terrorism and being at the frontline of combating terrorism and the bad impacts of this evil phenomenon on social and economic growth of the country, Ms. Raz asked for serious measures in providing support through a an organized, comprehensive, and harmonious regional approach for eradicating terrorism. Ms. Adela Raz emphasized Afghanistan’s serious, decisive, and honest will in fighting terrorism.
Mr. Voronkov talked about his recent trip to Afghanistan and his meetings with government officials. He praised Afghan Forces in fighting terrorism and announced his office’ readiness for required cooperation.
Both sides talked about terrorism as a common international threat and stressed the need for common measures to be taken.
