Foreign Minister Rabbani Meets President of the Kyrgyz Republic

BISHKEK - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E Salahuddin Rabbani met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

President Jeenbekov mentioned that Afghanistan was a very good friend of the Kyrgyz Republic in the region and promised his country's long term cooperation with Afghanistan in bringing about peace and enhancing the human resources capacity in the country.
Foreign Minister Rabbani also mentioned the commonalities and shared values between the two countries and called for implementation of CASA 1000 project and the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan- Afghanistan Railway project.

Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Chinese Foreign Ministry Senior Advisor

BISHKEK – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman met with the Senior Advisor for External Security Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Chung Pung.

The two sides exchanged views on enhancing economic, security and cultural cooperation between Afghanistan and the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, holding the third SCO Contact Group Meeting co-chaired by Afghanistan and China’s constructive role in the Afghan led and Afghan owned peace talks.

Deputy Foreign Minister Participates in Second Round of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan Political Consultations

BISHKEK – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman participated in the second round of political discussions meeting between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, held in Bishkek.

In this meeting, discussions between the two sides concentrated on: politico diplomatic cooperation, Kyrgyz Republic’s contribution in various projects such as that of Energy, humanitarian aid, finalization of the bilateral MoU on Trade and Economy and agreeing to hold the meeting of the joint commission in this year, the SCO’s contact group and mutual support of the two countries at the international level.

Foreign Minister Meets Kyrgyz Counterpart in Bishkek

BISHKEK – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Chingiz Aidarbekov.

Extending a warm welcome to Foreign Minister Rabbani, the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister expressed his pleasure for hosting the first ever Afghan Foreign Minister to visit the country. Mr. Aidarbekov emphasized his country’s support for the peace process, security, stability and economic prosperity in Afghanistan.

Mr. Rabbani also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Kyrgyz Government for the invitation to visit Bishkek, the very warm welcome extended to the delegation and for upgrading relations to the level of Ambassador. The Foreign Minister praised Kyrgyz Republic’s stances in regional and international settings aimed for stability and peace in the region and Afghanistan. He also appreciated Kyrgyzstan for granting 75 scholarships for Afghan students and the humanitarian aid provided to the ethnic Kyrgyz of Afghanistan residing in the Pamirs of Badakhshan province.

Explaining about the foreign investment opportunities in Afghanistan, Mr. Rabbani called for the speedy implementation of CASA 1000 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Railway projects.

The two Foreign Ministers discussed cooperation on education, culture, sports, tourism, close ties between higher education institutions and people to people contacts between Afghanistan and the Kyrgyz Republic; and signed an Agreement on Establishment of a Bilateral Trade and Economic Commission followed by a press conference.

    

Foreign Minister Pays Respect to Kyrgyz Martyrs

BISHKEK - In an official setting, I.R. of Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani prayed by the resting place of the Kyrgyz martyrs of 1916, 1937 and that of April 2010 Revolution and laid a wreath of flowers in the mausoleum of the reknown Kyrgyz writer and poet, Late Chinghiz Aitamatov.
