Celebrating 100 Years of Diplomacy

KABUL – Afghanistan’s 100 years of diplomacy was celebrated in a glorious gathering with the presence of H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, H.E Salahuddin Rabbani, H.E Hamid Karzai, the Chief Justice, former Foreign Ministers, current members of cabinet, foreign ambassadors to Kabul, and some high officials of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

At this event, the Foreign Minister, the Chief Executive, and the Former President respectively talked about Afghanistan’s foreign policy over the past 100 years, especially achievements of the diplomacy apparatus of the country in the past 18 years.

This event ended with a short video clip about Afghanistan’s diplomacy in the past 100 years and was followed by a photo and handicrafts exhibit and live music played by Azada Group of the Music School.

Foreign Minister Meets Indonesian Special Envoy

KABUL – Foreign Minister H.E Salahuddin Rabbani met with the Indonesian Foreign Minister’s Special Representative Dr. Desra Percaya.

H.E Rabbani mentioned Indonesia’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan and praised its support for Afghanistan in different areas.

While talking about Indonesia’s readiness for helping Afghanistan, Dr. Percaya informed Minister Rabbani about providing 75 staff of the mining sector of Afghanistan with professional education in Indonesia.

Both sides discussed Peace Talks, Ulema’s next meeting, women’s empowerment, and bilateral relations.

HoA-IP Countries Conclude Conference With Consensus About Counter-Narcotics As Key To Counter-Terrorism

 

ALMATY – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman headed the Afghan delegation participating in the Joint Regional Conference On Counter-Terrorism & Counter-Narcotics held today.

Held within the Heart of Asia- Istanbul Process framework, the event was initiated by Afghanistan and hosted by UNODC in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Participants included representatives from the Heart of Asia Countries and international organizations.

Deputy Minister Zaman in his opening remarks, noting that illicit drugs are a global problem, called for joint concerted regional and international efforts to fight the transnational security threat.

All speakers, both in panel and open discussions, emphasized the need for a regional strategy to counter narco-business to counter terrorism.

Deputy Minister Zaman Makes His way to Attend Counter- Terrorism, Counter-Narcotics Conference In Almaty

 

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman is scheduled to attend a Joint Regional Conference on Counter Terrorism and Counter Narcotics due to be held on July 22nd in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The event is to be attended by senior officials of the Heart of Asia Countries and relevant international organizations.

Deputy Minister Zaman will address the meeting on Afghanistan’s status of progress in countering the said two phenomena, challenges in the area and the role of regional countries in the context.

The event was initiated by the Afghan foreign ministry within the Heart of Asia- Istanbul Process framework.

Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Afghan and Pakistani Young Ambassadors for Peace

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Idrees Zaman met with a number of young ambassadors from Afghanistan and Pakistan in an event that was arranged by Mediothek Afghanistan organization.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his remarks on the Afghan President’s visit to Pakistan, the Afghan-led and owned Peace Process, expanded and consolidated relations of both countries’ peoples and the vivid role of young ambassadors for peace, holding Presidential Elections in its due time, and the importance of peace for expansion of political and economic relations between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister answered to the questions of the participants.
