Turkish Ambassador to Kabul Calls on Deputy Foreign Minister

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kabul Mr. Oğuzhan Ertuğrul today.

Deputy Minister Zaman talked on the good ties between the two countries, holding the 3rd Kabul Process Meeting, International Contact Group Meeting in London, and the upcoming Presidential Elections.

Both sides exchanged views on bilateral ties, regional cooperation, and construction of the mausoleum of Khwaja Bahauddin Walad father of Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi in Balkh, Afghanistan.

 

Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Deputy Special Representative of UNAMA in Afghanistan

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Nasir Ahmad Andisha met with Deputy Special Representative (Political) for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan Ms. Ingrid May Hayden.

Both sides exchanged views on Afghanistan and United Nations joint programs, Consultative Peace Jirga, the 3rd Kabul Process Conference, the modality of extending UNAMA Mission, annual status report of Afghanistan, Providing diplomatic and security services to the UNAMA mission in Kabul based on Status of Mission Agreement (SoMA).

Ms. Hayden appreciated continues cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with respect to providing diplomatic and security services to the UNAMA Mission in Kabul and assured Dr. Andisha of mutual support from the United Nations Office in joint working areas.

 

Indian Ambassador to Kabul Calls on Foreign Minister Rabbani

KABUL – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani met with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Kabul Mr. Vinay Kumar.

Mr. Kumar thanked the people and government of Afghanistan for condemning the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir and expressing their condolences and sympathy with the people and government of the Republic of India.

Foreign Minister Rabbani called terrorism as global threat and asked for a serious struggle of all countries against this phenomenon.

Both sides discussed bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and counter-terrorism, expansion of trilateral cooperation between Afghanistan-India-China, peace talks, upcoming presidential elections and holding the consultative Loya Jirga for Peace.

 

Deputy Foreign Minister Meets UNODC-Afghanistan Representative

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman met with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Country Office Representative Mr. Mark Colhoun today.

Mr. Colhoun shed light on the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs Ministerial Meeting to be held in Vienna, Austria from March 24-28, 2019 and added that the meeting would recall Afghanistan’s achievements over the last 10 years in counter narcotics and discuss UNODC future plans for Afghanistan.

Deputy Minister Zaman stated that a high level delegation from the Afghan Government would also attend this meeting.

 

Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Spanish Ambassador to Kabul

KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Mr. Idrees Zaman met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Kabul Mr. Gabriel Firan today.

Deputy Minister Zaman, beside appreciating Spain’s support and assistance to Afghanistan in civil and military spheres, shed light on the Consultative Peace Jirga and the 3rd Kabul Process Meeting to be held soon in Kabul.

Both sides discussed good relations between the two countries, the Peace Process, signing of the Bilateral Strategic Cooperation Agreement, and political situation of Afghanistan and the region.
